Book donation questions
Yes. Book pickups are free in both Canada and the United States. Availability depends on your address and our current routes.
Request a book pickup with your address, book details, and preferred days. Our team will confirm availability and arrange a time with you.
Ontario pickups accept all book types and conditions. Tell us about damage so we can plan handling. Acceptance for collection is separate from suitability for resale or a particular donation recipient.
We donate books to local literacy programs and people with limited access to books. Organizations can contact us to ask about available donations.
We do not currently provide official donation tax receipts for book donations.
Bring your books to our Concord warehouse during drop-off hours. No appointment is needed. See our warehouse location and drop-off hours.
Ontario personal pickups have no minimum or maximum collection size. Keep each box at or below 50 lb. Tell us in advance if you have more than 20 boxes; we may need to arrange a different collection day.
Our staff can collect from inside homes and use elevators. Books near the entrance are preferred but not required; stairs are possible but preferably avoided. See the detailed pickup preparation and access answers.
You can also bring books to our warehouse during drop-off hours.
Some books are sold to help fund collection, donation, and recycling. Books unsuitable for reuse go to a dedicated paper recycler. Each book's condition helps determine its next step.
Yes, we welcome requests from local schools, daycares, libraries, and literacy programs for book donations. Please fill out our contact form and select “Requesting a Donation.” Our team will review your request and get in touch with you.
